Office Add-ins for Law Firms and Legal Teams

Subcontracts arrived faster than anyone could log them. An in-house legal team at a national construction group received around three hundred inbound agreements a year, and the intake process was one paralegal's inbox: subcontracts, supply agreements, and NDAs sat unlogged until she got to them, and the general counsel could not answer the board's simplest question about what was currently waiting on legal.

We built an Outlook-based intake tool. Incoming agreements are logged to a matter register as they arrive, classified by contract type and date-stamped, and the attachment files itself to the right workspace. A weekly summary now tells the GC exactly what is in the queue, how long it has waited, and which items carry signature deadlines. The paralegal did not lose her role; she stopped being the register. Full-featured legal document management suites ship their own Office plugins, and if your firm runs one, extending it usually beats building beside it. Custom work fits teams outside that ecosystem, in-house departments on plain Microsoft 365, or firms whose playbooks and precedents will not fit a vendor's mould. For a two-lawyer practice, disciplined templates and folder conventions deliver most of the benefit at none of the cost, and we say so when asked.
