A recent scoping conversation shows what these projects actually involve. A professional services firm wanted Copilot to answer questions like 'which engagements used this pricing model' from their proposal archive. Getting there was less about AI and more about groundwork. The archive sat in a legacy document system Copilot cannot see, so the plan centred on a Graph connector to index it, plus permission mapping so Copilot never surfaces a proposal to someone who could not open the original. We mapped that architecture, checked the licensing the firm already held, and laid out a sequence starting with a read-only connector pilot.
